The stage is set for senior Kolton Bell to pursue his interest in musical theatre, according to his mother Melissa Bell.

“Kolten has been in Beloit schools his whole life,” Melissa says, noting that she was born and raised in Beloit. “What I loved most about raising my kids in Beloit is how diverse the community is.”

Connie Leisher knew early on that her son, Ben, was advanced for his age. “I had a teacher tell me when he was 2 years old that he was very advanced,” she said.

The three Gifted & Talented Program teachers work with all the teachers at all the schools in the Beloit school district. We want to challenge kids at every level.

Twenty-eight students from Beloit Memorial High School (BMHS) have earned AP Scholar Awards by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program Exams, as compared to nineteen students achieving awards the previous year.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program allows students to take college-level courses while still in high school, with the reward of receiving college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.
